U16s Tour Match

After a rootin’ tootin’ weekend on tour in the Wild West frontier town of Prestatyn; the All Macs stage coach rolled into bandit country to take on the pesky varmints Crewe and Nantwich.

C&N were kind enough to lend the All Macs a number of players throughout the match to make the numbers even.

Tour had taken its toll on the All Macs team and it was C&N that pounced on this immediately by rushing out to a 4 try lead through some of electric running down both wings. Captain Molly took this the scoreline personally and promptly threw-up on the pitch for the first, but not last time. However All Macs decided enough was enough and a powerful run from Georgie resulted in their first try of the afternoon. As per tour rules; the try scorer must take the conversion attempt and after a few tips by Kira the kicking coach, Georgie promptly stepped up and slotted the kick straight through the uprights to successfully complete her first ever conversion.

The game was littered with lovely rugby from both sides and probing runs from Mollie, Kira, Evie Tonks and Maisie created problems for the home team defence. The All Mac defence was equally productive with Emi, Rose and Kenny leading the early tackle count.

Next it was the turn of Evie Parker to add to her impressive try tally with a typical barn storming run from short range to bust through the defence 5 metres out from the right touchline. As such the conversion attempt was likely to be tricky but a great effort fell just short.

After a well deserved half time break, and more chundering from Mollie, All Macs resumed their try scoring through Evie Parker once again! This time managing to touch down closer to the posts to make the conversion attempt easier.

The final score of the afternoon came from Lottie B who recorded her first try of the season after some penetrating runs from Georgie, Kira and Mollie. Sadly for Lottie she has inherited her father’s kicking ability and so couldn’t convert the try.

All in all it was a great afternoon to round off the tour. Players played, coaches coached and spectators spectated as the sun shone on our faces all afternoon…..and Mollie threw up again.
